The ongoing coronavirus pandemic has led to a drastic reshuffling of our lives.
From day-to-day interactions to work, many of us are directly affected by our current situation. With guidelines regularly updated by the BVA (British Veterinary Association) and the RCVS (Royal College of Veterinary Surgeons) it can be difficult as a professional to stay up to date with the latest changes.
In our latest blog we outline the online resources available to vets offered by two of the leading associations within the profession.
As the veterinary regulator in the United Kingdom, the RCVS details and updates the guidance for professionals across the country. Its website, not limited to its coronavirus hub, is an important resource for professionals.
From news and views to online courses, the RCVSβ online offerings set the standard in online resources for the profession, the dedicated coronavirus hub details advice for animal owners, students, practices as well as professionals and also details online events and courses.
The RCVS has introduced updated guidance for veterinary professionals on how to continue to undertake veterinary work during the extended lockdown period. This updated guidance includes new flow charts to help decide whether or not to carry out a particular type of work. For more information, use the visit the RCVS website.
Working with partners across the animal health sector, the BVA has pulled together guidance and advice to support professionals during the coronavirus pandemic.
With dedicated webinars and guidance for veterinary professionals and practices, the resources help the profession to navigate the challenges of the pandemic’s impact on businesses and animal health and welfare, advice for pet owners on accessing veterinary care and keeping their pets healthy, as well as information for farmers on veterinary support to maintain the food chain.
The guidance is updated regularly and should be read in conjunction with official national and devolved legislation, and local guidance. For more information, visit the BVA website.
The VCMS would like to thank all within the profession for the tireless work during these difficult times and to thank the public for their patience and understanding.
